Hospital Lillebælt, Vejle
Project description
The management of Lillebælt Hospital decided to replace its hospital lighting with new luminaires based on LED technology.
The entire process of replacement will take three years to avoid disrupting the day-to-day routines at the hospitals. The first stage is now finished and primarily involved the hospitals in Kolding and Vejle
Lighting solution
At Lillebælt Hospital, Vejle, 2,100 luminaires have been replaced, mainly with Tripar Medico LED luminaires.
This has reduced the consumption of energy from 1,082,000 to 296,000 kWh, i.e. by more than 70%.
The repayment time is 2.5 years, according to Lillebælt Hospital’s own numbers and measurements.
All new LED luminaires are equipped with DALI (digital addressable lighting interface) controls which enable each luminaire to be dimmed from a computer, and new lighting controls have been installed which help to substantially increase the savings.
According to Claus Nordentoft, Energy Coordinator of Lillebælt Hospital, Vejle:
“We managed this very interesting project ourselves, with excellent help from everyone involved, and we ended up with outstanding results that we learned a lot from.
Our collaboration with SG and Lindpro – who supplied and installed the project’s LED luminaires – worked very well.
Initially, there was some resistance to the new white LED lights, but by ensuring good dialogue, openness, controls and a little getting used to, things worked out very well, and we have received lots of favourable feedback. So we are quite pleased with the project, and we will now continue the process, as many people keep asking when it will be their turn to get the good new white LED lights.”
