SG Lighting has supplied 750 fixtures to the newly constructed section of the Het Hof nursing home in Hengelo, Netherlands. The nursing home, which provides care for individuals who can no longer live independently due to illness, includes a department specifically designed for people with dementia. This department, Weidedorp, is equipped with lighting from SG lighting that is low-stimulation and functional, making it an ideal choice for such environments.

Fred Oosterbroek Business Development Manager at SG lighting explains that they became involved in the project through a collaboration with Batenburg Installatietechniek, who sought a solution for the lighting. The result was that SG lighting was able to deliver a complete lighting solution to the nursing home.

Lighting solution

The lighting was designed with a focus on simplicity and functionality, using various products from SG lighting’s range:

Disc 480: A round surface-mounted fixture in aluminum, known for its simple design and calm lighting. This is installed in the living rooms of the 64 apartments.

Disc 290: A smaller version of Disc 480, used in corridor areas and at the entrance to the bathrooms.

Sense Pro: A square high-efficiency quality panel, used in the living rooms.

Frame Round Maxi: Used both indoors and outdoors, this robust fixture is designed by Holscher Design and includes a motion sensor, twilight switch, and emergency lighting. It is especially appreciated for its modern appearance and reliability in critical safety situations such as power outages.

SG Lighting’s solutions contribute to a calm and safe atmosphere, which is essential for environments like the Het Hof nursing home.
