Aabenraa Hospital
Project description
Social sustainability and environmental initiatives were in focus in conjunction with the building of the new psychiatric department at Aabenraa Hospital, one of two hospitals under the Hospital of Southern Jutland, Denmark.
The new department is made up of eight wards with a total of 115 beds and common functions. The lighting solution is characterised by innovative and energy-efficient solutions.
Lighting solution
Pioneering solutions are used in patient areas in the form of circadian-rhythm lighting. Circadian-rhythm lighting was developed to ensure ideal interaction between daylight and artificial lighting in the hospital service.
All common areas are equipped with a round, specially designed built-in luminaire (Ø380, 24 W, 3000 K). White Arkitekter designed a unique luminaire for the auditorium to enhance both the aesthetic design and the functional features. All lavatory facilities are equipped with SG’ Concido Kip. All luminaires were developed and manufactured by SG.
