Leksands Knäckebröd
Project description
Leksands Knäckebröd is a sixth-generation family-owned bakery business with roots dating back to 1817, when it was founded. The company has strong traditions that also place particular value on the environment and sustainability. It has been fossil-free since 2013 and reuses all electricity at least once. When Leksands Knäckebröd needed lighting for the area outside their new bakery store, the company’s Electrical and Property Manager Tomas Backman contacted Peter Malm, a sales representative at SG Armaturen, for assistance with the lighting.
Lighting solution
Tomas Backman collaborated with SG lighting designer Sandra Beijer to develop a dynamic lighting plan. A 10-metre-tall pole was used for spotlighting the store’s outdoor patio area and to illuminate the two decorative wooden horses. Wax spotlights with a combination of 27° and 13° lenses were used to illuminate this area. In the small buildings, Hovden was used, which is a compact spotlight with a 36° beam. The lamps were divided into different lighting groups so they could be varied throughout the day and adjusted as needed.
Tomas Backman thanks SG Armaturen for such good collaboration. “Getting help with data visualisations and experimenting with the different beam angles of the spotlights was very helpful and key to achieving this beautiful end result. All of us at Leksands Knäckebröd here are delighted.”
